Furnace Mill Fishery
Furnace Mill Fishery is a great place to fish at any time of year.
We have four lakes stocked with quality course fish with something for everyone.
Carp, Roach, Rudd, Tench, Perch, Bream, Chub, Barble plus much more.
We are very lucky to have a long friendship with Matt Hayes who thinks a lot of both
Ed and our fishery and tells us that we have one of the best fisheries in the country
and certainly in the West Midlands.
As well as day tickets, it is also possible to hire a pool for club matches,
fishing with family & friends or corporate days.

MUCKY MEADOW POOL
Pegs : 24 Pegs
Size : 1 1/4 Acres
Depth : Average 6 ft Deep
Mucky Meadow Pool Fish Selection: Roach 3lbs, tench 3lbs, bream 3-4lbs and up to 12lbs, crucian carp 3lb, common carp average 3-6lb, mirror carp average 3-6lbs, ghost carp average 3-6lbs. Chub average 1½-3lbs. Also has golden orfe, perch and rudd.
Baits: Best all year baits are Furnace Feed pellets, hookers & paste, caster, maggot, sweet corn, luncheon meat and chopped worm.
Methods: Pole or waggler are most effective. In the summer a lot of carp are caught in the margins and chub can be caught on maggot fished just below the surface. A small swim feeder or light lead in the winter can be productive.most popular are pole or rod fished waggler.

Size : 1.5 Acres
Depth : Average 6ft Deep
Furnace Pool Fish Selection:
Roach to 3lbs, tench averaging 1-3lbs, bream averaging 2-4lbs and up to over 12lbs, and crucian carp up to 3lbs. Common, mirror and ghost carp with average weights of 1½lbs to 5lbs with some commons and mirrors into double figures. Chub average 1-4lbs.

Baits:
In the summer the most successful baits are usually Furnace Feed pellets, hookers & paste, casters, chopped worm and red maggots. In the winter try maggots, pellets, bread, corn and worm.
Methods: The most popular are pole or rod fished waggler.
Furnace Pool top end:
In the summer the fish are caught at varying depths but most of the big catches are from the margins and the far bank on the narrow section.The fish tend to stay on the bottom in the winter but look out for them nearer to the surface on bright sunny days.
It costs £150.00 to hire this pool for a contest for five hours.
MILL POOL
Pegs : 20 Pegs
Size : 1 Acre
Depth : Average 5 1/2 ft Deep
Mill Pool Fish Selection: Roach to 3lbs, tench averaging 1-3lbs, bream averaging 2-4lbs and up to over 8lbs, and crucian carp up to 4lbs. Common, mirror and ghost carp with average weights of 1½ lbs to 4lbs with some ghosties up to 15lbs, and a lot of golden orfe that provide good sport in the winter.
Baits: Furnace Feed pellets, hookers & paste, corn, worm, caster, maggot or bread.
Methods: Pole or waggler.

WILLOW POOL
Size : 1 Acre
Depth : Average 7 ft Deep
Willow Pool Fish Selection: Roach to 2½ lbs, tench averaging 1-3lbs, bream averaging 2-4lbs and up to over 8lbs, and crucian carp up to 3lbs. Common, mirror and ghost carp with average weights of 1½ lbs to 5lbs and some up to 25lbs. Chub average 1-3lb.
Baits: Furnace Feed pellets, hookers & paste. Caster or maggot fished up in the water work very well.
Methods: Pole or waggler. Margins are very productive.
Pleasure fishing is limited due to occupancy of the holiday lodge. Please contact us
for availability.
BAITS
If you would like to use feed pellets or paste you may only use those on sale at the fishery.
You are now allowed to use any brand of hook pellet.
GROUNDBAIT: We only allow Angling Bait Company groundbait.
You can also use:
Maggots, casters, worms, hemp, corn, meat, cat meat, macaroni, cheese, bread, prawns, cockles, mussels and dog biscuit (if pre-soaked).
If you can think of anything else PLEASE ASK before using!

Allowed at Furnace Mill Fishery:
There is not a lot you can't use:
NO liquidised bait.
NO wasp grub.
NO blood worm or joker.
NO artificial baits (plastic or rubber).

DIP YOUR NETS BEFORE ENTERING THE FISHERY GATE
NO KEEPNETS (minimum two required in matches 60lb limit)
IMPORTANT FEED PELLETS, PASTE AND BOILIES MUST BE PURCHASED AT FURNACE MILL FISHERY, you may use your own HOOK pellets.
ONLY ANGLING BAIT COMPANY GROUNDBAIT IS ALLOWED
NO LIQUIDISED BAITS, BLOODWORM, JOKER OR WASP GRUB
BAIT THAT IS NOT PERMITTED MUST NOT BE TAKEN TO THE POOLSIDE

We have 3 individual pools available to hire for either club matches or groups of friends who like to have exclusive access to a particular pool.

For the angler we have various types of bait and terminal tackle including groundbait, feed & hook pellets, hooks, swivels, floats, line, landing nets etc.

GETTING HERE
From Kidderminster: take the A456 heading towards Leominster. At Callow Hill turn right onto the A4117 (see brown tourism sign) towards Cleobury Mortimer. At Far Forest take the 3rd road on the right after The Plough Public House and follow the signs.
